I lost my heart to Annabel
Gerry: We found our bliss yet again leaving one heavenly tourist spot in Queensland to arrive at one in New South Wales. Lennox Head is divine, unspoilt beaches, not much traffic and close to Lake Ainsworth Tea Tree Lake which is so cleansing and so refreshing at this time of year. The downside was that we only got to spend a week with the sweetest dog.
Jacky: Annabel and Gerry were a love affair. from the get-go. I was working on the Gold Coast for a few days so Gerry and Annabel had time to bond. She loved her walks and absolutely loved lounging in the Tea Tree Lake, the beach, and the river. A retriever really seems to be the most placid, easy going, fun loving breed. I would highly recommend them as a family pet or as company if you are on your own. Their loyalty knows no bounds. the area where we walked her close to home was where a new housing estate was being built. For the first time we saw Australian hares and Annabel loved to chase them. She had absolutely no hope of ever catching them but that did not seem to matter. Such a happy hound. She really was a pleasure. We stayed in a big old house which was very dark after the sunny aspect of the Pelican Waters property. But the weather was beautiful so we took lots of trips out with lovely Annabel.
When we arrive at our house sits we are so warmly greeted by the animals as well as the owners. We are so bowled over by the almost instant trust, not only from the owners but especially from the animals. Within 24 hours acceptance is usually complete and we are part of their pack. Often it is even sooner. It is the greatest feeling to be accepted and trusted by animals that have such great instinct.
