After leaving Andy and Jo, we sped off down the Hume highway, taking turns, to drive the 800+km to the cold and mist of the Southern Highlands. It took us about ten hours with a few stops to meet the locals!

We stayed at Ruby Cottage, in Mossvale on a damp cold and wet night. This was the first night since leaving my apartment in May that we had actually paid for accommodation!  It was chill to the bone cold and for a small place, not the friendliest little place I had ever visited. But it was a welcome stopover and the landscape was much more interesting than the long, long straight roads of the Hume Highway.

A dinner at the Mossvale Hotel which must have been the busiest place for miles around. Then a good nights sleep and back on the road again.  This time headed to Sydney.
